Tijdens haar vakanties ontmoette ze een Zwitserse vriendin, waarvan haar verhalen haar zo enthousiast maakten dat ze uiteindelijk de stap naar Zwitserland waagde. Nu, een paar maanden na haar verhuizing, deelt Elien haar ervaring over het wonen en werken in dit prachtige land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De eerste stappen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Ik vond het lastig om de overstap te maken en had veel vragen. Welke documenten heb ik nodig? Wat moet ik regelen? Het is natuurlijk spannend, en ik wilde er zeker van zijn dat alles goed zou verlopen.&#8217; Via Google kwam Elien terecht bij Korint\u00ae en schreef zich in voor een webinar over wonen en werken in Zwitserland. &#8216;Kort na het webinar namen ze contact op, en het traject werd in gang gezet.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het proces verliep soepel, vertelt Elien. &#8216;Binnen een paar maanden was ik al aan het werk in dit bergachtige gebied. Het verzamelen van de benodigde documenten ging veel sneller en gemakkelijker dan ik had verwacht.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verschillen met Belgi\u00eb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Elien merkt duidelijke verschillen tussen het werken in Zwitserland en Belgi\u00eb. &#8216;In Zwitserland staat je beroep echt centraal. In Belgi\u00eb werd ik door personeelstekorten vaak ingezet voor andere taken. Hier houd ik meer tijd over voor mijn pati\u00ebnten, mede doordat er minder administratieve rompslomp is. Alles wordt netjes genoteerd via voorschriften, maar het voelt effici\u00ebnter.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ook de cultuur verschilt. &#8216;In Zwitserland zijn mensen erg hoffelijk en ruim op tijd. Pati\u00ebnten zijn liever tien minuten te vroeg dan precies op tijd. Mijn Franse taalniveau is nog onvoldoende, dus ik wil een cursus volgen om dit te verbeteren.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elien werkt in een Duitstalige kliniek in het Franstalige deel van Zwitserland. &#8216;Mijn kliniek is echt een multiculturele plek, met Belgische kinesisten, een Nederlandse secretaresse en een radioloog. Het is fijn om collega\u2019s uit de Benelux te hebben.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wonen in Zwitserland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Na haar vertrek vanuit Leuven reed Elien met de auto naar Zwitserland. &#8216;Ik woon nu een uur van mijn werk. De eerste maand huurde ik een woning van de kliniek, wat een fijne oplossing was. Inmiddels heb ik een permanente huurwoning gevonden.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In het begin vond Elien het lastig om haar draai te vinden. &#8216;Ik was vaak alleen en moest wennen aan de nieuwe indrukken. Gelukkig spreek ik nu regelmatig af met collega\u2019s, en met het skiseizoen kan ik na een werkdag of in het weekend lekker de piste op!&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een positieve ervaring met Korint\u00ae<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Elien is erg te spreken over de begeleiding van Korint\u00ae. &#8216;Ze hebben me aan interessante werkplekken gekoppeld en waren altijd beschikbaar voor vragen. Na elk gesprek belden ze direct om te vragen hoe het ging.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voor andere zorgprofessionals heeft Elien een duidelijke boodschap: &#8216;Niet te lang nadenken, maar gewoon doen! Het kan in het begin wat eenzaam zijn, maar Zwitsers zijn ontzettend vriendelijk. Je vindt snel je draai en krijgt er een geweldige ervaring voor terug.&#8217;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elien maakte haar droom waar door als ergotherapeut in Zwitserland te gaan werken.
